LLOYD E KELLEY BIO
Lloyd E. Kelley, “Kelley”, is a lifelong Houstonian with over 17 years of experience as a civil trial attorney. He began his career in the 1970’s in the Houston Police Department. As a Lieutenant, Kelley received the prestigious Chief of Police Commendation.
While working at HPD, Kelley earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a Master’s Degrees from Rice University and Sam Houston State University. During law school at the University of Houston, Kelley was a top law student and was selected to be on Law Review. Kelley was also awarded the Honorable Chris Cole award for courage.
After 13 years of dedicated service in the Houston Police Department, Kelley became an attorney with the nationally renowned firm of Fulbright & Jaworski.
In 1992, Kelley received the honor of joining the White House Fellowship, one of America’s most prestigious programs for leadership and public service. Working under both Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Kelley worked in areas such as legal and judicial reform and international organized crime with the State Department.
Returning to Houston in 1994, Kelley continued his service to his community as a City Councilman and soon after the City Controller of Houston.
Kelley returned to private practice in 1998, founding Lloyd E. Kelley & Associates. In the last decade, Kelley has been widely acknowledged as one of the most accomplished trial lawyers of his time, holding some of the largest verdicts and settlements in Harris and Fort Bend County. Kelley and his cases have received local and national and media coverage.
